Early style headlights brought up to date by another method
Discussion
my cerb's at the garage, could someone else tell me if the lens is 7" ?
there are a few clear projector lens solutions out there for a "proper" hid conversion, although still missing headlamp washers and autolevellers, I think these would be a hell of a lot better focused and more legal than just chucking hid bulbs/ballasts into halogen reflectors & lenses

The original spec lights have a lens separate from the reflector. The lens is set a few cms away from the reflector. So you cant replace with sealed units AFAIK. You can buy a HID kit but I am not sure that the light pattern is very good.
so you reckon clearance might be an issue? I'd best wait till I get her back then and check how much clearance there is behind the lens area after removal of the existing lens, reflectors, etc. There's quite a lot of room in the wing, so you could fit them, but you'd need to find a way to mount the lights. I've been looking at bringing things up to date and keeping the original style and these do look good. The only thing is they could be setup for those who drive on the right hand side of the road like the Yanks.
