Hello all,

Just a quick one to say thanks for the advice about buying a Cerb.

I picked my new car up last night, and already have the Cerbera grin. It's a 4.2, Purple with Grey leather interior. The car used to belong to cerbielee - Thanks Lee for being a pleasure to do business with!

There are one or two little jobs to do, which I am looking forward to, and inevitably, I have a few questions...

First what happens if the battery goes flat? How are you supposed to get in the car? Lee showed me what he thinks is the 'secret' way - could somebody PM me with details?

Next - this is a stupid one I'm sure - how do you lock the car? The keyfob only seems to disable the imobiliser, and doesn't seem to set the alarm / lock the car - the manual says press the middle button on the fob - but there is only one button and it doesn't make the indicators flash (again as stated in the manual - I know I shouldn't believe the book but I can't help but read it!)

Finally (for now), the drivers door external entry button isn't working, but I think it's a dodgy connection and will be a fairly easy fix - are the allen key bolts round the edge of the door for taking the door pannel off? Is it as easy as it looks, or should I set aside *lots* of time for that job?

Thanks!

Ireland

Welcome.

The "secret" way in ..... bring it along to a dealer / indie and get them to show you.

It can't be posted on here for obvious reasons.

The fob needs to be held for about 2 seconds to lock the car.

Try it again.

Then if that fails it's probably time to call on Carl Baker http://www.tvruk.tv/index.cfm

As for the button, I'm sure someone on here did that recently so a search should help you out there ..... or perhaps they'll see your post and reply.

skoff - yes to remove door panel you just remove the 7 odd allen bolts and it comes away. There are 2 large connector blocks one at the front and one at the back - these get all furred up and cause lots of strand leccy problems.

Yes it certainly does seem to be a car that demands respect and concentration

Yes that's it Amethyst pearl.. looks nice in the sunshine.. At least it will tomorrow when I give it a nice clean..

The doors and locks are going a bit bonkers at the moment with the interior light staying on and other mad stuff with the windows, but there's plenty of good adivce about that on here so I will be investigating over the weekend.

Funny thing today, driving home a Monaro pulled up behind me at some traffic lights - I haven't seen another one down here in the 2 years I have lived here. A Monaro was my plan 'B' if the Cerb hunt didn't go well. Anyway it was clear he wanted to race, but I pulled away gently (gotta look after that clutch), then gave it a little blast. He disappeared like he was in reverse. I am soooo glad I bought the Cerb - different class altogether.
