I left my ignition on and drained my trusty Halfords battery. Tried to charge it without success. So, armed with guarantee I took it back.

Having searched the archives I was safe in the knowledge that the Halfords 072 would fit but......

.......they've recently changed the sizes and its now too tall for the Cerb, even without the battery tray.

I sourced an 072 from my local motor factor's which fits a treat and has a greater capacity than the Halfords one. In will check in the morning and post the make.

I also have a spare, new, Halfords 072 going cheap........

Cheers

Ed

Yup, I can confirm the Halfords 072 is no longer the one to go for. Unfortunately I didn't find this post in my previous search before going out and buying one! Wasted a few hours and now I've got to find another suitable model.

Might be worth compiling a list of suitable models for the equivalent part list. Although various brands have been mentioned on the many battery posts most people haven't mentioned part numbers so I'm still having trouble locating something suitable, even websites that list Cerberas suggest batteries that wont fit in the limited space!

...never mind, sure I'll get there in the end.

I had a peak at mine the other day and it's a 075 with a bit of extra chocking (wood) so that the clamp holds it there, 600A cold cranking not as high as the 072 but turns my high compression over ok.
