Well first thing to wear out in 5000 miles and its prob because it was sitting at the back of previous owners garage for 2 years eek, was expecting far more things to go wrong (I've said it now!!!banghead). The clutch does work, I have to keep topping up the resoviour and after driving a small puddle appears underneath the front of the car. When I bled it last there was small bits of rubber in the fluid. Not driving it at the mo as it may contaminate the clutch. Has anyone changed the seals on these themselves? and is it an easy task? Will I need a clutch aligning toolsmash? prob have to replace some other bits, but without taking it to pieces, I havn't a scubyscratchchin. In the Mondeo now, doh! paperbag.

Thank you all,

Happy Burblin!!! driving

whether you find it easy depends on your spanner ability and access to under your car.
You don't need an aligning tool if you just doing the slave.
You can just replace the seals but watch for signs of scoring on the slave, if so you may need a new slave aswell.

A guide to fitting the clutch is here...

Unfortunately it doesn't cover the slave exactly (I should update this!!) but there is enough info to get the job done.

Yep, Mark's guide is adequate to do the Slave (I used it to do mine) wink

Make sure when you get the seals you get the 4 countersunk screws for the cylinder as you will need to drill these out unless you're pretty lucky. Also remember to Loctite them back in.

Only other thing is put some light lead in's to the edges of the drilling of the cylinder and the various rasor sharp edges on the machined surfaces. Will make getting the seals in a lot easier.

I was also advised to use rubber grease to lubricate the seals by a TVR tech but I didn't have any to had at the time. This is 'supposed' to prolong the life of the seals.
