Oil and Filter change time ??

Hi Folks,

Yes it may be a simple question but I have not done it yet so any pointers for the job much appriciated.

I am looking to flush my oil out this week and fit a new filter. Is there anything to look out for or is it just as straight forward as on any car?

What Oil filter should I buy also? I guess they must be the same as some regular car?

Hi Dave.
Just had a freind change my filter and oil. Look very simple.
When was it last changed? Whats the car running on now?
I have swapped over from Mobil1 15w/50 to Royal Purple 15/40. Will keep posted how I get on with the oil but it came very highly recommened and the car is running sweet.

History of oil top ups this year but looks like it was 2006 when last filter and oil was properly changed.

I am going to buy two filters and run a system flush through the car with some cheap oil just to clean the inside out.

Then dump the lot and fit a new filter and propper oil once I am happy its all cleaned through.

I now know its a Range Rover filter to use so these are easy enough to get hold of. Also sorted the best way to jack the car up to avoid twisting.

So all is left to do now is spoil the nice new block paved drive when I piss oil all over it!
