had a full set of nitrons fitted yesterday by joolz.

what a difference!!
more compliant over bumps, far better body control, better cornering.

i only did about 40miles last night but couldn't believe how much quicker i could go over bumpy roads.

best £1000 i've spent on the car i would say,i'll have to do some more miles to really test them out.

thanks to joolz, excellent service as usual.

Sounds great, something I am thinking about doing - when I finally get a Cerbera!

Was it a day job?

Mike, were the Nitrons the new NTR replacement ones? What spring rates do you have?

Cheers, Dave.

I'm pretty sure they'll be NTR. I don't think Guy is making the old design anymore.

I had a look at a set up at Joolz's last night and it almost seems a shame to fit them under a car, they just look so well made, shame my budget only runs to slightly used Avo's

How long was the wait fro ordering them to arrival and ready for fitting?

gazzab - why not give Guy a call direct on 01993 849449? I'm sure he'll sort you something out plenty quick enough and send them on to whoever you'd like to fit and set them up.

Sorry, I'm assuming you want some for yourself? Have I assumed to much!?

I'm seeing Guy at le Mans, so will ask him about the current supply rate .. I actually buy more TVR dampers than any other outlet (just had 7 sets through) so in quite a good position to argue for quicker delivery for you - you can have them fitted anywhere of course, I just want to see one more person on Nitrons, that's how good I think they are.
One word though .. make sure whoever you buy through gives you springs and dampers, there's places out there selling them for the 850 plus vat but without springs .. and a spring set is about 120-160 pounds worth depending what spec and rate you go for .. plus you'll get charged for changing your old springs over from your existing dampers .. doh!!
Seeing as the std nitron for cerbie / tuscan was developed for around 400 front / 325 rear rates make sure you get springs of that order, if you want to use std springs then Guy will possible want to revalve to suit. You can safely go to a 450 front spring on the std stroke length if keeping sensible ride height, if higher rates or lower ride then you'll be needing shorter stroke, any of the Nitron distributors (or Guy himself - although he's a busy man) should be able to talk you through this so give some a call and see what they have to offer.

I've just been on the nitron website (drool) the NTX and the NTR look very different, or are the NTR fitted to a cerbie different to the ntr on the website?

Also he makes a point that the are very light (1.25kg) how does that compare to a std damper?

I'm assuming here that you didn't end up buying the house

Not yet !!! I might just accidentaly buy Nitrons on the credit card (assuming Joolz or others take credit cards !!) get em fitted and enjoy the car still while I can. If that means selling it with only a few miles on the Nitrons then so be it. If we end up mucking around cos we dont buy a house for a few months or whatever then I will have longer to enjoy them.

do people tend to leave the rear ARB on when they get Nitrons fitted? I dont have one on my car and am not sure whether to put one on.

IIRC the standard ARB is very thin and almost completely crap. Again IIRC Joolz does uprated ARBs.

They are not totally necessary though, some people run without them.

While I remeber.

Joolz, do 450lb front springs compromise anything (e.g. grip)?
What rears can you run with these? 325lb?
What is the highest spring rate you can go to on the rear without losing traction?

You won't ever lose all traction because you have too stiff rear springs - it's all relative!

The correct choice is very much down to the style of driving, the feedback the driver wants, the type of roads, the compromise on ride etc. Joolz has done many combinations to suit different needs and should have a good idea. But rock hard, zero rear ARB, stiffer front ARB is hardly going to suit everybody! Add the fact that the dampers are adjustable into the equation, and there is a lot of scope for compromise.

I don't believe the standard rear arb is "very thin", it's certainly pretty obvious if you disconnect it. Not necessarily a very relevant mod for road use either.
