Afternoon guys, after lot's of thought i've decided to take the plunge in the next couple of months and buy a TVR but can't decide what one to get. It was always the cerbera as it looks amazing inside and out and goes like a stink however is getting on in years so i've started thinking about a Tuscan as they are a bit newer but still within my budget! Has anyone on here had experience of both cars? I obviously no about the issues with both cars but is one better than the other! I'll be looking for one with a engine and gearbox rebuild as I want to reduce the possibility of a huge bill as soon as I buy it and know they are the major ones! The rest of the niggles I can probably do myself!

Any input would be appreciated!

Depend really out of the two which floats your boat.Even though the Cerb is getting on a bit it still looks the sleeker of the two.Regarding reliability, both have there problems, but you will find that if used on a regular basis you bring the problems down. The main issue on the Tuscan is the speed 6.If your willing to wince every time you go for a drive then take a gamble.Saying that though they do perform well.At the last track day at Brands a Tuscan 2 was running rings around the Cerbs.I will have a go at owning a Tuscan before i leave the marque altogether.thumbup

I followed that tuscan 2 about half way through the evening until he pulled in. He certainly wasn't running rings around the Cerbs, but I wasn't in any danger of overtaking him. smile He was a nice chap too.

He was doing a good job of exiting the corners with a decent speed on, but the Cerb was pulling up to him by the end of the straight, and its a fairly small straight. Give me a straight twice that at brands and he'd have been in trouble, but at brands I wasn't going to try anything on him at the end of the straight because I was already drifting at the corner at the end of the straight and he wasn't. An overtake attempt on him at the end of the main straight would have likely seen me in the gravel.

Personally I'm amazed at the price Tamoras are going for now. Always wanted a T350 myself, though.

IMHO the most impressive car at the last meet was a dark green coloured Cerb. Don't know who's it was, but it was gradually pulling away from me both on the straights and through the bends with 2 up. Only able to catch up when it met traffic. frown
