Wonder if someone could help. I'm getting a continuous MIL from what looks like a persistent and continuous airtemp fault.

Got my meter poised at the airtemp sensor at the front airbox and wondered if anyone could tell me what resistance I should expect to see?

Hi !

Checked on my car too, it reads 1.93 kohms at 20 degrees celcius. If you have a MIL light caused by the airtemp sensor i think the connectors are corroded or moist. If i wash my car in the engine bay i get the MIL light from the air temp sensor. It seems as the sealant for the connectors isn´t working as they should. Try to clean the connectors and spray with WD40 or similair, it might help.

Thanks, but nope. Mine was a funny in that the Ait temp and water temp form a single wire which routes up by the aircon belt at the front of the engine., and then sits in the V of the engine.

After gutting the inside of my car to find conn1, then removing panels, airboxes, inlets tubes and a whole host of other stuff today, I finally found that the aircon belt had been touching the wire and slowly chaffed its way through. Bizzarly making a short rather than an open circuit in the wire to the ECU.

Satisfying when you find stuff like this, but what a pain in the ar*e.
