Ok, an open question to one and all... we were hoping to cure our early rev limit problem by replacing the induction hoses with a whirlwind set up but it seems its still apparent. Does anyone have any idea what else is holding back our cars ability to rev? Dads just shrugged and said "valve gear" to me, which is scary - but its been the same for as long as we've had it!
Equally, its just been on the rollers, and we can happily say that on the original chip its made *exactly* the same power/torque as it did when it last was tested (at about 20k miles, now 72k!!) of course TrackCar has liberated a fair bit more now...
We dont have a camel hump jobbie on our graph either - im trying to search for other mapped Cerbs graphs to see if this is normal - seems a little odd that ours is just smooooooooooooth straight through. Its not yet the most powerful out there, but we're hopeful that we can work out a little more with perhaps an exhaust next year?
God I love this car!!!
My endless thanks, as always, to TrackCar.
Thanks Joo!!!!

7000rpm ish, perhaps 7250...
I think dads got the print out with him. Im very pleased with the numbers, but im just starting to wonder what is holding it back now.
Oh dear, loooong slippery slope time I guess... Thanks for the graph - that looks pretty smooth.
Atleast its age isnt a factor here - im astonished that with the original chip it was within 1% of the result five years ago on Powerstations rollers! (in bhp and torque...) Its not had 72k miles of motorway use either, its used properly!!

It's not a rev limit, it's just that at 7k revs your airflow drops like a stone off a cliff .. the engine does rev well past 7k with no misfires now (it did many time on the dyno runs ..) just that there's no point doing so as hp is falling so rapidly ..
first thing to do is to try it without it's cats in, but you'd have to change away from sports pipes or you'd then be too loud to get into your competitions
I've got some big bore tubing that I was going to use for another customer .. so if you want a bit of playing around doing when it comes back in october let me know
all the best and good luck for Brighton Speed Trials. Go and kick ass!

Ahh, dad said it was limiting - sorry, should have checked with you first. first thing to do is to try it without it's cats in, but you'd have to change away from sports pipes or you'd then be too loud to get into your competitions

I'll tell him to hold third at the ST's then... We'll try our best in the TrackCarSolutions prepared 4.5! Damn Lambo Murci beat us by .1 of a second last time... hope to re-address that now.
I'll have a word with dad about de-cat/big bore stuff - im well up for it, I reckon he probably will be too... We dont mind heading back to standard/ a custom system with extra silencing/SP's system if it means theres a fair bit to be gained... all part of the cars continual upgrading, though chassis will put a damper on funds shortly. It feels like an absolute rocket as is still.

Sorry I couldnt come up and chat, I was unfortunately stuck at work (too early in the employment stage to decline shifts - im amazed I have the Speed Trials Saturday free to be honest! - I look forward to chatting about various things (chassis upgrades/cliffs racer/Smart supsension
) in October though, and possibly getting the little black rocket on the rollers at some point too??
It'll probably have ex-Cerbera induction mods by then too...
