I think my diff needs some care. Is a service kit available? I notice a rebuild kit is available for the T5 gearbox on ebay. Looks OK to me.

You may need a specialist company.The diff is made by an Aussie company caled BTR

I'm sure every Indie has their own approach, but I can tell you that Fernies send their's away to a specialist. Don't bother asking how I came to know...frown

Unless you know how to set preload on the ring and pinion gear send it away. wink

More to the point, how did you reach your diagnosis?

Developed a whine. It's either the diff or wheel bearing. My money is on the diff. The diff housing is damp suggesting a small leak. There is a tiny patch of oil on the garage floor but I'm guessing the drips might be hitting the exhaust pipe. Given the diff only holds just over a litre of oil I fear it may be empty. I'm refilling it tomorrow to see of the noise goes but I'm worried the damage is already done.
