Buying one or not?
Discussion
I have seen cerbera prices go down and i wanted one for long time.
What to do? I allready own a griff and some other classic cars. I even know that TVR's are not such a good cars. The griff made me laugh when i took it apart. And i think cerbera's will be the same.
But still i want one. By the way i do not drive very much miles. Let's say 1000 miles each year in the griff. What do you think? Just buy one and put it away? Can not depreciate much further i guess. Which is the model to buy?
How is the situation with parts supply? And the costs of the parts? By the way i service the cars myself with my brother in law he restores classic ferrari's. Racing cars, like 250 SWB and 250 GTO's. I do not have big confidence in TVR dealers certainly not in the Netherlands.
A griff is easy to service but is a cerbera too? I took a look at the service scedule of a cerb and it seems easy. What are the weak points?
How does it handle? Took a lot of time to set up the griff properly, all new intrax shocks with rosejoints. Because of bad TVR engineering some things can never work. Like they use silentblocks for the shocks and so on.
What did they do to make it handle better? And do not tell me cerbs have a completely other chassi because they do not just bit longer.
Tuscan racers have rosejointed suspension too, what you get is a hard car good for racing not so good for the road. But ok i found bit of compromise. At least i do not have to change all silent blocks and bushes every year anymore. Does the cerbera has the same problem?
Thanks
I want to buy one but my brother does not want to work on TVR's anymoree because he can not stop laughing.
But still i want one

If you only intend on doing a 1000 mls a year in a Cerb, then i would forget owning one. These cars need to be used to prevent a lot of problems occuring.Weak points on the Cerb are the clutch. But the CT one is a vast improvement over the old.Another weak spot are coil packs and throttle pots.
Fred,
Yes the cerbera is a laugh a minute, and not always because of its performance
Why not try asking Dinkel who is on this site. I believe he has driven both a cerb and a griff. You may be able to meet up with him and the cerb owner (TheFarmer).
