Sorry this one again guys but for the last couple of months i have been looking at buying my first cerb and have just been looking at the AJP V8 as i love the noise and have been put of the Girly Speed 6 from the forums. But looking at the stats can 350 bhp and a 0-60 time of 4.4 secs (for the speed 6)in a rear wheel drive sports car be called girly thats fXXXXXG quick!!Iam interested in a speed 6 with 34000 miles on the clock that had a rebuild at 29000 miles I am tempted.

I wouldn't be put off a speed six.

Speed wise, unless you've got A 4.5 mapped, the three of them are all near enough the same.

The speed six engines are known to have catastrophic failures, but you can get rebuilds with two year guarantees.

The V8's will eventually get "oil thirsty" and need a freshen up.

One's about £7000, and one's about £3000.

The S6 is a great car. Like any TVR, you will have to look after it, but you'll be right on the heels of the V8's up to 150 MPH.

You've kinda got to think all the S6 problems are ironed out now. There's a lot of cars with those engines in...

They dont sound as good, but performance wise there as good as equal. If the engines had a recent rebuild, then dont worry and go for it.

Dunno if its true (no reason for it to be false..) but Dave at Automedon (worked on cerb line) reckoned not so many s6 cerbs were returned for rebuilds unlike tuscs (very high %!!) appaently well suited to cerbs for some reason....can one assume that if its had a recent rebuild there should be no problems for 0000s of miles? You see, I have this itch....

Dave.

The again I also love the tam....bugger! Maybe I`ll hang onto my griff.....(spent enough dosh on it)

That is the polar opposite view to what I have heard in the past.
