Just wondering how much a warranty is these days?

Back in 2000 a 2 year all inclusive warranty on a '98 4.5 cost me £500. These days a 1 year warranty on my '06 Cayman is £895 (or *ANY* Porsche, strangely)..

Well... You're not going to be buying a manufacturers warranty, as they've took their ball home to Russia.

The other option is a "third party/we are going to get out of paying, haven't you read the 800 pages of small print/oh you've been using the car on the road/not worth the paper it's written on warranty"..... I'm not sure how much they are.

A fair few of us have the AA one, I think it's £65 a year, £475 max claim, five claims a year.

Your not thinking of returning to cerbie ownership then?

Seems like you had a great time on Megahoon, fantastic images, any chance of some image when we update the Eurohoon.com site?

Or all of a slave seals/cylinder smile

Oh, and also, as luck would have it, a starter motor. And probably lots of other stuff. Ive had my whack out of the AA warranty. Good job too as my car is no longer eligible from next year frown

How do you go about getting an AA warranty? And what does it cover you on?And why is your car not eligible from next year?

Covers cars up to ten years old, providing you've had it serviced within 12 months.

Covers everything, providing they have to come & recover you.

So if your wiper motor isn't working, don't call them if it's not raining smile

p.s. Buy their breakdown cover, and you can buy it as an "add on"

Not for the moment, the Cayman gave itself a new lease of life by moving back into my "woo-hoo, this is FANBLOODYTASTIC" book on the MegaHoon smile

Noting how much the Porsche warranty is (on a 2 year old car? frown ) I wondered what the state of things were when I last had a benchmark (2000). Did you know the Porsche warranty is the same price if you Boxster, 997, Cayenne or CGT???

Hey yes it is. Looking really well at the moment. I drove it to Hethel this weekend (with Ian asleep in the passenger seat) for the Lotus birthday event and it got more looks / photos than the cars on display in the main car park laugh

Its got Ohlins on the back now as well wink although I wish he would stop playing wiht the cerb and play with my chim for a bit *sulks*
