Hi All,

Sorry about this but I've become a victim of the tragic "If it ain't broke, don't fix it !" scenario.

I happily fitted some Leven windscreen wipers earlier in the week. Drove her a couple of times during the week and was pleased with the results. Took my baby out yesterday - absolutely no problem but then tried to restart her last night with no luck.

The remote unlocks the doors but the flashing light which has one particular steady sequence when locked, does not change to the slower 'second phase' flashing sequence after the remote has been pressed a second time or the 'plunger thingy' has been inserted into the dashboard. In fact the light actually goes out. Also the warning noise doesn't activate. It appears that the system resets and looks like it's ready to try again after the normal delay but the situation remains the same.

I tried sitting on the starter button for ages but with no luck. Lights are OK so I'm pretty sure that the battery is good. I'm hoping that, whilst fitting the wipers, I didn't upset the Big Fuse but I don't think I have as she has been fine up til last night.

The final problem is that the car isn't at home so it's a trek to try anything in the car park she's stuck in.

Any suggestions, however helpful or not, would be most welcome.

Thanks !

PJ

Morning Paul. The flashing light you're referring to. Are we on about the Green dashboard one or the Red one in the back window ?

I presume the little override key on the dash is in place / hasn't been knocked.

In fact, I've just been out to the car.

Yours is working correctly, when you turn the alarm off, both lights go out.

The only reason for the buzzer not coming on are either

A. You haven't pressed the black ignition button smile
B. The metal override key isn't in position.

Now get it sorted..... ya eeejut

Thanks Mate,

Sorry I didn't recall the situation correctly. You're dead right. Normally, the tone doesn't come on till pressing the black button but I'm afraid the black button doesn't do a thing on mine at the moment !

I've never, knowingly, touched the metal key but that's a good idea and I'll go and check that.

First cup o' Tea's on me. Ta !

On mine, by the way, the dashboard light, like the rear window light, is red.

I knew that car was a cut & shut, that just confirms it

smile

I feel cheated by only having stopped in Reims for the one night.

Would you & the missus be up for going there again sometime in the new year ?

Or somewhere else ?

Absolutely Mate,

And I'm still gagging to see your new baby !

Are you thinking of going to next week's Nurbie trip ??

Oh, I'm off now to try fiddling.

Talk later.

All the best !

Can't do anymore trips this year, as she'll kill me.

I've got an operation on my back on Tuesday, so I don't know how long that's going to put me out of commission, I'll be on PH a lot next week, from my "patientline" Internet connection smile

Plus, I've talked her in to letting me have a week in Vegas for the boxing in December, with my pals.

I just know that telling her, I'm off for another weekend doing car stuff, would be the start of a domestic, that I don't fancy right now.
