I've had a problem where I think someone tried to force the force the windows of my Cerbera down. I noticed one window wasn't sat in the seals properly and a noise from the window motor. The alarm went off so
they fled before doing any damage.

However, I have 3 problems/questions
1) The Alarm still thinks someone's breaking in - when the alarm is activated I get 4 flashes rather than 3. I've been told to diconnect the battery for 30s. I can do this but will I need to reset anything afterwards (eg the key fob ?)

2) The battery needs changing. Do I need to take the battery out of the car to charge it ? Or can I just connect the -ve to the engine ?

3) Is there a good charger/boost starter I can buy. I bought one but it will charge at more that the 7Amps so am taking it back. The boost starters suggest something about 400Amps - are these ok ?

Thanks in advance for any help.

You can either disconnect the battery or unplug the doors control box in the boot, either way the windows will reset themselves. As long as you start with the windows right to the top.
To charge or jump start the car just do as you say + to battery and - to a good engine earth. Its best to get the battery changed soon, it will just let you down at the worst posible time.

Maybe your window has failed in some way rather than a break in? Cerbs are rarely a target. Maybe the closure switch on the door failed and so the window logic is up the shoot? with the window slightly open then you might get the alarm going off?

Its possible.

But at present I don't know if diconnecting the battery is the right response and if it is will anything need resetting like the key fobs ?
