Have a budget of around £25k, looking for a 4.2 or 4.5 Dont like green, black and the duller shades.

Looked at a 98 4.5 today, nice drive and the misses got on with it ok, but not many stone chips on the nose and has not had a front end respray, full TVRSH but last stamp 1998, currently having a 12000 service. Temprature going up to 100 and then down to 90 also oil pressure at 30psi @ tick over.

What do you think ?

Although it probably wont affect the cars performance or reliability.When you come to sell in the future that 4 year gap is going to make the car harder to sell.
For the money i think it's a fair price from a dealer with warrenty.
Personally i would get private and keep a couple or three grand in the bank

Don't know about others, but 30 psi seems a little low. Mine starts at 80ish and warms up to just over 60psi. Of course, the gauge could be out.

I think you need a run up to Gods country to look at mine.

Mine (4.5/2000) does exactly the same with the oil. Starts at 40-50, lowers to 30-35 on idle when hot and climbs to 40 at +3000. Water temp varies as you said, usually at 90 climbs to 100 the minute air stops flowing in the front, fans come on in short order, and temp goes down to 90, fans go off. Always been like this, just been through a service and garage not worried in the slightest when I queried it.

Dont touch with a barge pole.
I wouldnt worry about stuff like stone chips. Look at the important stuff like the engine, service history etc.
24K seems very expensive for a car with sod all history.
Spend many Ks less and buy a 98 car privately, make sure it is a known car etc and then you are left with enough cash to bring the car totally up to top spec ie add nitrons AND enough cash to cover running costs for a fair while AND you wont be hit with depreciation when you sell.

Should servicing be done at 6000m or every 6 months which ever happens first or just every 6000m ?

How does the alarm and imobilizer key work, have noticed that the keys tend to be left in the cars.
