Drivers seat height??
Discussion
Hi,
Just got the car back from the MOT/new bat. and took the opportunity to have part of the driver seat re-trimmed due to a small tear. The seat had to come out for the re-trim and then was refitted.
I picked up the car today and driving back I just couldn't get comfortable in the seat.
The problem is the driver seat now sits a good inch and a half to 2 inches higher than before which makes the driving position feel very odd. Also, the lumber support now feels like I have a rugby ball behind me (the seat is fully deflated). After just an hours journey I was suffering from lower back pain.
My question is how is this possible? I assumed TVR seats were just bolted onto the floor sitting on runners. Why/how would my seat after being removed and refitting rise so much in height?
This is definitely what has happened because comparing it with the passenger seat it is visibly higher.
So – does anyone know how to adjust this or has anyone had a seat out and can explain a little more of the gubbings?
I know the obvious answer is to take it back to the garage but that is a good hour away and if possible a quick fix at home would be preferred.

OK, I have had a look under the seat and the drivers seat to me looks wrong (the runners are much higher). Can somebody take a look under their drivers seat please just to make sure this is not the norm.
Here are the pics for comparison, the passenger seat is the first pic and the drivers seat the second, you can clearly see the driver seat sits on runners a good inch and a half higher than the passenger seat runners:

I've just had a look at ours & both seats are the same height.
Looking at your pics, it almost looks the drivers runners have been put back on upside down (making it taller).....
Not sure if this is possible, but thats what it looks like !
Here are ours for comparison
(excuse the quality - taken in the (dark) garage, with my mobile phone))
