I'm not lost - Chim owner tempted...

Tempted by a Cerb... (but it's a CAT D)
Saw a 1998 4.5 Cerb today that I know will soon be for sale (In Yorkshire).
Despite trying resist I considered future ownership and quickly developed the TVR grin!
It's done about 40K miles and the engine has been replaced. It's a pearlescent cream/pink colour and a new clutch was going in as I saw it.
Bad news - It's a CAT D.
I'm told it was a rear end shunt and has been rebodied with a newer shell, hence it's facelift front and rear.
In terms of price, I'm confident I could pretty much do a straight swap for my 98 Chim 500 (not a CAT D).
I'm not up to speed on the values of Cerbs - Shall I live the Cerbera Dream, hold out for a non-repaired one, or just stick to what I know?
Cheers guys.

I went from Chim 4.0 to a 4.2 1997 Cerbera, What a difference! Running costs per year are greater, I've just had a 12K service on mine it need quite a few things replacing, to keep it in top condition. My Chim cost me about £500 - 600 a year for service, but Cerbera has cost me £1700 and I got about £650 on warranty. But The thrill of having and driving a cerbera is worth it. Havr you drivign one yet? I tried a Tuscan before I bought the Cerbera, the cerbera just felt so quicker.

. I don't particularly think CAT D matters, if you trust what was done. Insurance companies have some weird ideas sometimes as to what's bad and what isn't! All imho of course!
