Hi Chaps
Hope you're all well .. some of you may remember me from early this year, had a beautiful 1996 4.2 which had to go (missus and i split up blah blah blah) ... anyways im now in the position to buy myself a decent car again. First thing to point out is that it wouldn't be my only form of transport this time round, whilst Cerbs can be used on a daily basis having to rely on it to do such mundane things as the school run and then into Manchester each day isn't ideal, or it wasn't ideal in my experience anyway. So yes, i've got a nice comfy Jeep Cherokee to do the daily stuff .. the TVR will be used as an evening, weekend and pretty much every other occasion car ...
Budget is fairly flexible in that i can go up to £20k ... thats not to say i want to spend £20k, if i find the right cerb no matter what the age nor price then that will be the one i go for. Now what was the advice i was after ? ... well for me the Cerbera is simply the ultimate TVR however i have been looking at the Tuscan, the styling is certainley to my liking, im not so sure on the way it handles nor the S6 block. Yes this is the Cerbera forum but as i spent most of my time here i am wondering if any you learned gents have had experience of both ? ..
I know the obvious answer is to drive the Tuscan but it would have to be a special car indeed to draw me away from the Cerbera. Im not interested in out and out hardline performance figures, lets face it, neither are exactly slow, its more about the driving experience. The loss of the 2 rear seats isn't particularly an issue.
Reliability isn't so much of an issue to me as it was before .. within the first 10 days of owning my first TVR i was staring at a thousand pound bill for a new clutch so my eyes are firmly wedged open with these cars .. when i say its not so much of an issue i mean that i have my daily heap to rely on. So if something did go wrong it could be fixed without me worrying how the hell im gonna pick my son up from school.
Your thoughts and comments would be appreciated chaps ..
Many thanks
Steve
