For those who are interested, I'm racing the Cerbera in Group 1 of the PRO-MIL GT CUP at Snetterton on Sunday the 4th November.

This is a new series for GT and Closed Top Production Sports Cars,JV between MSVR and Haynes. Power to weight ratio is basically 300 bhp per tonne at the wheels, so perfect specification for the Cerb as this is identical to Group B in the Tuscan Challenge.

The grid is filling up with a range of cars with the likes of Astons, Marcoses, Maseratis etc..I know there are already 6 Ferrari 360s, 9 Porsche GT3s, the Cerbera and Ceejay is trying to get another engine into the T350 to join me.

It'll be interesting to see how we match up to this field!

Andy at APM is fettling the car for the race, so we've added the six pot calipers and welded everything back on that came loose at Brands, just want to make sure I can outbrake as many of them as I can at the ends of the two big straights!!

Should be interesting. If it is for what was British GT Cup Class then I would be surprised to see Astons competing. A well driven Class A Tuscan would be too quick, but as you say, the Cerbera should slot in pretty well.

Do you have adjustable brake bias John?

I don't think it's intended for the DBRs instead the N24s. They're fishing for quite a good range of cars, mainly Fezza 360 & 911 GT3 but also Exige, Marcos, Aero8, Ginetta GR, 355,Rx7 etc and hopefully a T350 and Cerb or 2. If they get the grids and can balance the performance of the cars it will be a great series in 08. I'm really hoping the T350 will be ready in time so we can take part in the inaugural race in November. If that goes well I'll do the whole season next year and possibly a couple of the Sagaris and Tuscan Challenge rounds too.

I would think they will take any vaguely suitable car that shows interest to get as big a grid as possible for the first few rounds. They'll then worry about compliance with regs for next year if the thing looks like flying.

Anyway, good luck both.

Out of interest Ceejay, what does your car weigh (minus driver but with minimum fuel)? I'm interested whether we ended up at about the same weight given we both started with road car shells and have the same roll cage. Mine was 905kg at Silverstone (having just run out of fuel), but has put on a bit of weight since then.

I don't know the weight of thew T350 at this stage but I very much doubt it's anywhere near 905kg. Mine has a road chassis, standard suspension arms and hubs, a TKO box (15kg heavier than a T5). If it's below 1000kg I'd be very happy and if below 950kg I'd be stunned. The cars are very different and not really comparable.

It's much lighter now I've emptied all the kitty litter out of it hehe

I reckon it'll be pretty much the same as a std roadcar T350 .. getting on for 1100kgs.

It's seriously hardcore, great fun and very friendly but lots of massively quick motors.

Cerb has qualified 2nd in Group B, Cliff got a puncture and had to come in after his required laps.

Looking forward to romorrow!!!!!

I got a famtastic start from 14th to 8th as the Marcos stalled and I nabbed hi line right up the inside.

In the end I had a massive 8 lap battle with the Porsche Turbo Hybrid for 2nd in Group B losing out in the end by a few tenths of a second. So got on the podium to get my Laurel Leaves from Jonathan Palmer who was really excited to see a TVR in the mix.

Cliff's misfotunes unfortunately continued losing both clutch and diff in the end and had to retire on the last lap.

TVR made a good showing and I'm sure we'll be back!

Some more dilogue and pictures are on the General Gassing Forum.

All the best

Jonny
