But i didn't! Had a few letters to post and other errons to run which could of waited till tomorrow, but me being me decided to do them today and take the cerb as its going in for a service Wednesday and i fancied a drive, oh dear! Got stuck on the M1. 3 lanes of traffic as far as the eye can see and no hard shoulder. Temperature starting to creep up, fans will kick in soon i think, temperature still creeping, hmm getting a bit warm now then steam! loads of it from under the bonnet, damm! should of checked the water. By now its dark and the traffic is at a snails pace, if it had stopped i could of turned the engine off but instead had to leave a good distance between me and the car in front so i could get a bit of speed up then coast to get some cold air in to cool things down. anyway to cut a long story short managed to get off the motorway and navigate my way back home avoiding speed humps and through rush hour traffic , stress levels at this point quite high! but in fairness the cerb never missed a beat despite all the steam and the temp gauge all over the place. shes all tucked up now think I'm going to have a stiff drink to calm down and check her out in the morning phew!

Bummer, dude.

A 2L bottle of Evian in the boot might be a good move. Or Buxton if times are hard...

Had exactly the same thing happen to me on Saturday night! Went out, didn't have too, got stuck in a line of traffic and after five minutes, the windscreen misted over and steam began to bellow from under the bonnet. Temp guage was OK but panic set in, so I decided to pass the stationary queue of traffic on the wrong side of the road at quite a rate in order to get home.

As I got to the front of the queue having passed twenty cars or so, sports exhaust popping and banging, the reason for the holdup became apparent. The police were trying to close the road! Mr. Plod just shook his head as I gave him a wave and blatted past! I guess you have to be nuts to drive one of these things anyway!

And the cause of the steam, I had overfilled the coolant resevoir!!!

Only tools I carry in the Cerb are big fat cable ties, a pump and tyre weld. I always think its tempting fate if I carry my tool kit with me rolleyes

So far so good though.
