cerbera throttle cable

hello

the throttle cable has gone on my cerbera! very annoying!

anyhow, its just the inner and it appears to be frayed, now i have read that people have changed it for a mountain bike cable? im guessing i would need to get one cut to a rough size and then adjust the ball bit at the throttle rod end?

anyone done this before?

I,ve also fitted the bike cable.About 15 months ago and still going strong.On the bike cable there will be a stop already fitted,where it goes up to the lever.Thread it up from the pedal with the cable stop at the pedal end.Once at the top run it around the canter lever and fit a ferral on the end.Then clamp the lever over to prevent the cable slipping back out.
