Can anyone tell me the spec of the bolt that holds on the rear of the passenger side airbox (2000 4.5), please?

Mine seems to have gone for a walk, and the airbox is now rubbing against the bodywork... frown

Hi Ian

Mine are definatly M6 x 20mm long. I used st. steel capheads with spring washers to try and stop them coming adrift again. I also think they're easier to tighten with an allen key rather than a small spanner or socket as it's a bit tight under there.

Trouble is mines a 2003 so yours will probably be totally differant.

Best of luck
Simon.

Thanks Simon, one thing that might help - are they the same bolts on each side? If so, I will re-check the one I have on the other side!

Dulford replaced all of mine last service with a 10mm bolt and washer arrangement. Yesterday I went WOT for the first time since the service and it got jammed open at about 50mph in 2nd eek Pulled the pedal up with my foot and nothing happend censored Just getting ready to shut the engine off, dipped the clutch and the sudden drop in acceleration caused it to un-jam.

Quick investigation and the cause was obvious, the throttle linkage (believe this is the correct term) was touching the passanger side airbox bolt at 7/10th throttle and under WOT forcing past the head of the fixing bolt and jamming underneath it.

They were similar to the picture above previously but black and hex/allen type, and I'm now going to replace with that again.

Just thought it was worth mentioning so that it doesnt happen to anyone else, wasnt a nice experiance.

Cerbera sophistication, I just love it! rofl

I don't like the sound of the throttle sticking story, though. yikes Should they be fixed in place, somehow as in glued, do you think?

Mind didnt come loose or anything, just the fact the bolthead was protruding enough for the linkage to get stuck. Would defo recommend the flathead/rounded type bolt.

That makes sense - glad to hear it wasn't a loosening of the offending article!
