Air Con Again

Although the air con on my car works, I only seem to get cold air from the passenger dash vent and the vent under the steering wheel, I cannot got cold air into the drivers footwell, the vent here only works with the heater. Is this normal? My car is a 99 model.

there should be two vents - one cold and one hot.

Two vents in the drivers footwell? Ill have a look when I get back home, am stuck up here in Bristol for the week.

The vent coming out of the tunnel is for hot air only, suggest you close it in the summer otherwise it gets a bit betty. The vent that seems to dangle down from below the dash/steering wheel is for cold. The eye ball seems to be the only one that can do either on the drivers side. Trust that this helps.

I had a similar thing on my 1999 4.5 and it turned out that the driver's footwell vent didn't have a hose connected to it! The three way splitter above the driver's footwell even had a plug in the hole that the hose should have been connected to.
One length of hose, five minute's effort and I now get a cold right shin as well as a cold midriff!
