I have a tomtom and a Cerbera. I've tried putting the tomtom on the window but you lose a lot of visibility. I've put it under the radio without a mount and it works fine but falls over a lot.

I'd like to get a mount and fix it in place - does anyone have any recomendations of what mount to get ? Should I remove the carpet from here (which is pretty naff anyway).

I've been mounting mine on the screen but over by the tax disc area and facing the driver. I know this might sound odd but it works quite well and isn’t as clumber some as you might thing. I guess in the end it's down to personal preferences?

I used sticky velcro pads on the Tom Tom and then on top of the radio part of the dash (not the top of the dash by the windscreen) - it worked really well and didn't obscure the windscreen view.

Only problem is that during really hot summers, the sticky pads eventually give up the ghost. If you could find a permanent mount for that, you'd be sorted.

Try mounting it at the top of the windscreen, alongside and same height as the rear view mirror (if not higher).

My TomTom one gets mounted on a beanbag or on the legs of a "I love my Dad" teddy in the cubby under the radio. Works well, although I'm tempted to add an external aerial, plus it's not affected by sunlight.

Worked for me all around Thunder in the Tunnels.

I have my Tomtom in the hole under the radio, it works fine and is great because there is no glareing or sun on the screen, I have made my own alluminium mount using the same form as the original mount, I have then used self tappers to hold it firm, it just slots on and off in a couple of seconds and the wires are mostly kept behind the unit it's self.

I use the supplied screen suction mount but jam it in the slot above the radio.
It's just fine and at the right level.

My sat nav was mounted on the roll cage. I found that the sucker could be pushed between the headlining and the roll bar.

yes Best place IMO - it's a place you're used to glancing already.

Velcro'd a bit of glass to the underside of the radio and used the suction pad on that - works well with my Indago. biggrin
