"Part Exchange: Porsche Boxster"

Yes; I would be worried.

In fairness, it does read very well, so certainly sounds worth investigating.

Well known Ph Cerb owner and has had the car a good while (certainly he pre-dates me) - whilst I don't know the car or owner personally, I have always seen him via his posts on here to be an enthusiast who has pampered the car and spent the money required as and when needed without hesitation.

Re the first posts being deleted, this might actually be a Ph thing; I remember another Ph'er (Nervous) trying to track down the first post from one of his early threads, only to find it had mysteriously vanished - turned out it was a server sync thing and lots of first posts were lost from some date range or other. I expect missing posts are nothing more sinister than that.

A steal at that price I would say, but you obviously should still have the car checked over by a specialist - and am sure Greg would have no objection to this at all.

Don't know the car personally but it certainly reads well, ticking a lot of the right boxes. If as described and I've no reason to think its not, then it is a bargain imho.

Agree with both the above posts.....

I would say it's a bit of a bargain.

I was hoping that was tongue in cheek, otherwise I'd have to downgrade my appraisal hehe.

You've got to admit the RL7's do look right on the Cerb though, much nicer than chocolate spiders IMHOyes

Yup, this is a PH thing, older threads have all lost their first post which is a tad annoying, but nothing sinister at all.

I've seen Greg's car in the flesh a few times and the colour really is stunning in real life, obviously I didn't tell him at the time, but it looked nicer than my Cerb biggrin The interior was in excellent condition and seemed very well put together, but this was a couple of years back, so check for any new stiletto marks in the roof lining wink

Nothing but praise for Topcats either, they certainly know their stuff and I used them exclusively when I had my Cerb.

Two thumbs up from me smile

Hi L33. i know the car very well smile . I have never deleted any of my posts, so must be a server/PH thing. I think my first thread on the Cerbera forum was probably about loosing coolant. Just give me a shout if you need any further info.

wink - In process of.

Can I buy yours Paul?

I still want a Cerb but am somewhat frightened by HUGE bills when (not if) anything goes wrong. A "Grief" or "Chimp" would make more sense financially, but just looking at a Cerb I have a small sex-wee explosion in my underpants.

Thanks for all your replies so far guys.
I just have to make my mind up if I can have a Cerb and risk huge bills.
It would be a second car for me and I don't want to be spending £2k a year to keep it on the road. But I really do want one...

I have to make a firm decision first as I'm not into looking at cars and wasting peoples time when I know I have no intention of buying just yet.

Cheers,
Lee.

It isnt a joke! If you feel £2K is a stretch then dont do it ! If £3K is do-able then do it. If you cant afford that then dont do it (unless you can do most of the work yourself). These cars are getting older now and the old '£3K pa' rule (which I might have started) is probably too low an average now. Cars are reaching 50K and the number of rebuilds is increasing but then that is the same for 911s, M3s etc....

Would this not depend on many things like 1)how often it's used 2) How well it's been driven before and currently 3) How well it's maintained. I'm touching wood here but I've had mine since May and not had to spend anything on things going wrong. It will happen but alas not yet at 54,000 miles. It's not an everyday driver - so that's maybe where the 3k starts coming in.
