Has anyone tried an aerial amp yet, if not don't bother, the reception is as bad as ever, i'll be sending it back and sticking a telescopic one into the rollcage tomorrow.

which one. Was it the Modwise one. If so, wondered what it was like.

I've fitted the Modwise one and it's brilliant. The positioning of the copper aerial strip is a bit trial and error but once it's in the correct place the reception is as good as any other car. I even picked up Radio 1 in Calais!

It is a mod-wise one, whereabouts have you fitted your copper strip? It also says in the insructions to fit the earth strap to the filler neck with a jubilee clip, however I didn't have the room, so fitted it to the earth point in the boot, wonder if thats anything to do with it. I'm off for a spin in a bit, so will see if things improve!!

crazycats, did you sort out your aerial? Any improvement? Would you recommend modwise?

I did get it sorted, I spoke to David at modwise, and he kindly sent me a couple of extra copper strips, which act as the antenna, I spent ages sticking them around the boot and eventually found that if you have one strip running across the car, I put mine above, the control boxe behind the carpet bit, and the other goes lengthways around the boot, and finishes near the RH rea light cluster.

As a result, the reception is now brilliant, and have no hesisitation recommending the amp, you just have to play around with the placement of the strips.

When fixing them, make sure you take a drive each time, I found that I could get excellent reception outside my house, but a mile up the road it'd be c**p again, time consuming but well worth it in the end.
