All nice and tight up front
Discussion
Finally I'm almost 100% happy with how the front end of the car handles.
Over the past few weeks I've fitted Powerflex bushings and a new set of suspension bolts to the front of the Cerb.
This morning I tracked the front of it (using an old set of Paddy Hopkirk gauges ..... marvelously simple) and set it with 6* toe-in.
I've just come back from approximately a 100 mile trip on every sort of road surface (mainly poor ones) in mixed weather conditions and I have to say that the car has never felt better at the front, ever, since I got it.
I still have a small bit of pedal-bounce which should go once I get the new discs re-drilled to suit the PCD of the Cerb and fitted on the car but, other than that, it is really tight.
I'm afraid to say that it's running well or something else will probably blow up in a hail of rivets and plastic but, for now at least, I'm smiling.

how much were the owerflex bushings and a new set of suspension bolts & where from, are they easy to fit
Cheers sid
I got them off Steve Heath Cheers sid

and they are easy enough to fit using the most basic hand tools.
Actually once I finally gave in and followed the "burn out the old ones" part the instructions fitting them was a doddle.
It's worth setting the bolts as well as I found one bent one and one partly-worn side on another one.
I've only done the front ones yet but I've had a look at the back and it's pretty much the same basic principle as the front.
I'll get that done within the next few weeks.
I've taken some pictures of the procedure and I'll post them at some stage (I don't have them here with me right now).
