Ever been 'half' locked out of your car ?
Discussion
I had a drive over to sunny Coventry yesterday to see how doctor Dom was getting on with old blueys engine rebuild. A chat, a chocklate and fifteen minutes later, I returned to mr purple. At this point I reckon a bit of jealousy had crept in, as mr purpl wasn't letting me in via the drivers door. I proceded round to the passenger side, leaned over and pressed the inner button and still nothing. Next came the red handle, at this point, I'm thinking "here we go".....my only previous experience of pulling the red handle was on the Blue car, and the thing came off in my hand. My mind wondered back to the sight of me holding said handle in claw, and my missus asking "is that supposed to happen ?"
It seems jeremy Beadle wasn't available yesterday as the driver's door swung open like a good un
Next comes the stop at the service station, for some much needed petrol. After a bit of a pause, the internal button decided to work. Round to the boot, and you've guessed it, I'm not getting in their either. A quick peer at the fuel guage reveals I'm not getting home. Back in to the car, I fondle the boot button in various places even give it a massage while lent over it doggy style and the three girls at the tills gander over at me with that "look at that sick pervert" gaze.
There's a nice queue formed behind me now, so I decided take our little slap & tickle session to somewhere slightly more discreet out the way of the pumps. Back in to the car, and the driver's door is having none of it still, lean over from the passenger side and after a five second pause the internal button opens the driver's door.
We then resume our little session over the by the tyre inflator, with me frantically rubbing the boot button like a genie's bottle wishing I could get my petrol in and get the f11ck home.
Thirty minutes later i've worked up a good sweat and my hand is well and truly blistered. I concede defeat and haul my sorry, perverted looking carcus into shell for some mechanical inspiration.
I eventually get in, and £67 worth of fuel later, that's my new record by the way, I'm off back to brum.
On returning home the doors & boot are now working perfectly again.
Has anyone else ever been locked out of 2/3 of your car ?

Not really no, been locked out of the boot several times though through the mickey mouse "drivers door, boot, radio, cigarette lighter on the same fuse" leccy madness...
edit: How is bluey progressing/ what kind of a rebuild is being done - upgrade??

it's o.k. Stripped and ready. They should be starting on it later in the week. I think it'll be coming back as a 4.2 still, but we'll wait & see. I don't mind throwing a few quid at it, if Dom comes up with any ideas. It'll have a two year warranty on the engine, so I've just got to decide which one to sell.
I must be getting old, I bought an automatic Rover 623gsi off one of my customers last week, and I've found myself using it to go to work & I prefer it.
That's never right is it ?
