Well finally got my car back after spending the best part of 11 months at Austec. Its come back in fine fettle and is looking and going fantastically. The car has been resprayed in Rosso Pearl and the engine has been rebuilt as a 4.5 almost a 4.6 I believe. ACT manifold and ACT exhaust. The engine has custom pistons all lightened and balanced comression ratio raised. fancy headgaskets of some sort or other. Current power was on a map before it was fully run in really. It will get mapped again after a few thousand miles and should make a good bit more then hopefully. Having said the car is noticeably quicker and torquier than it was and I've not had chance to push it at all yet since I got it back.
Hope you like the photos.

Next I need to get the suspension set up properly on polybushes and new discs on the front using the alloy bells that I've got hold of, looking forward to the summer now.

Lovely paint job and the anthracite wheels really work well.
Must have seemed like an age but you gotta be pleased with the results.
Well done..Enjoy.

Looking good, so glad you got it back eventually Dylan, I think it fair to say your car was a catalyst for some in house changes. Looking at your curves I think there will be some very pleasant surprises to come once its run in, even in that tune its not fully revved out and looking strong with torque not dropping off significantly.

I think you're right and all for the better. There obviously were a few, quite major issues in August when I first picked the car up however it sounds like there have been substantial changes now with a new highly thought of person in charge and Paul back to playing a more active role. All my issues have now been sorted and its been worth the wait.
The only thing is a throttle pot went on the way up the road so Paul is sending a new one up and then the car should be good.

How is your engine running, anymore mods planned? Are you still going for the bored out 4.2 induction?

Nice car, well done.
Reminds me just how beautifull this marque of car is.

As TVR Owners we all need to be reminded of this every now and then laugh

Well it is meant to be ICI's version of Rosso Pearl that does not fade. I was told that it is sprayed a Silvery colour with Red Laquer sprayed over the top. Either way it is a lovely colour and looks a lot better than the faded pinky red that it was before.

What a fantastic looking car - you're so right to be well pleased smile

Quick question on the graphs (and apologies if this is me being dumb) but what gear were they done in? Looks like 4th from the quoted speeds?

That's looking fantasic in Red with those spiders. Bloody nice paint job!

I bet collecting the car after 11 months of work made your bank balance drop somewhat!

I belive it was done in 4th although only from the speed attained. I know there is some controversy over this although not quite sure what. Not sure if it matters though as the power loss is actually measured on the coast down I think so it should make no difference. However I stand to be corrected.

It was not cheap however the respray was mainly covered by the insurance after it was vandalised so that was a big saving. There is a huge difference in the look of the car now though as before it was badly faded and turned a salmon pink. As for the divorce someone mentioned she would have to find out first. whistle

Rather not go into too much detail on here, however I picked the car up in August and there were several problems with the car and quality of work, mainly with the respray. As Harry alluded too in an earlier post there were a few issues at Austec earlier this year with the personnel. This has been rectified now, there have been several changes in personnel including the mangager and Paul after taking a step back from the company is much more involved with it again. After the initial problems with the car, it was picked up and all my points taken onboard and fully rectified. The end result is a car that I am very pleased with.

Its also nice to have all the positive comments on here about my car, cheers.
