?buying a cerb
Discussion
I'm thinking of changing my car (subaru impreza sti) and one of the options is a cerbera.
So i thought i'd ask the people in the know a few questions about them.
I've heard loads about reliability issues, how bad is it really?
with doing maintainance myself what are the running costs like? (prob do between 2 to 4k miles a year including a few trackdays)
are parts readily available without having to use overpriced dealers (if they are overpriced that is)?
Any info would be great,
cheers, Johnny

Loads of places to get parts from most people go to places like TVR Car Parts etc etc avoid the dealers you will be getting the same parts with there mark up on. Infact a lot of dealers use TVR Car Parts. are parts readily available without having to use overpriced dealers (if they are overpriced that is)?
Try to see as many cars as you can and have it looked at by someone who knows the cars.

Most parts are available without any problems, lots of nice people sell them and are sometimes similar on price...TVR Power, Track Car Solutions, Austec, www.tvrparts.com (not sure correct web address), Clevor Trevor, to name a few.
The parts for the Cerbera are however more expensive than for other older style TVR's, but when you look at the Cerbera as a Supercar then it is not expensive!
If you are willing to get to know your own Cerbera by doing your own repairs etc. then you'll save a small fortune on repair costs. Reliablity is good if you buy a well looked after car and you keep on top of maintenance, if you don't then beware!
If i was you I'd buy a V8 Cerbera as the AJP V8's seem to be stronger and more robust than the Speed Six....
in coming!!!
Every petrol head should have a Cerbera, enough thinking about it...buy one, you know you want to! Good Luck
