Well, since April 2007, I have been the proud owner of a fantastic 2000 4.5 LW in Rolls Royce Midnight Pearl with Magnolia 1/2 leather with black headlining, door inserts and full stainless steel dash and pedals.

Actually, I must confess to falling in love with MadMark's car!! So finding this one which is almost identical was a right result!

Bought with just 15,800 miles on the clock from Fernies, I have only covered an additional 2,000 miles in that time.

A fantastic car and experience, but since I don't use it and a change of circumstances, I'm thinking the cash would be better spent else where.

What is the opinion of the market at the moment?...I have contacted a number of dealers that have offered between £15,000-£17,000 to buy the car outright from me. No part exchange.

Looking in the classifieds, I am a bit shocked at the value (I know these are seasonal cars).

Is it worth advertising on here, or should I sell to a dealer to free up the cash? I don't really have the luxury of time.

I think £17k isn't bad (from a dealer).

I believe "RochesterTVR" is after a LW. Might be worth emailing him the car's details over smile

If she's in top nick, then I don't see why you shouldn't be pushing it up towards the £20k mark IMO. Anyone after a Cerb where money is no object - relatively speaking - tend to want a good 4.5 LW model and you don't see too many less than £20k.

I think this months (Jan08) glass's guide lists the trade in at a shade over 17k and private sale just over 20k. So all the prices talked about her seem on the money.

I also think it states you should add 1250 for aircon, 500 for full hide and 500 for reflex/pearlescent paint to the private sale value.

Tim.

Thanks for the feedback everyone smile

I just find it galling that I will probably see her for sale for around £25k by a dealer. frown

She needs nothing doing (apart from the naff handbrake, which never worked even when I picked the car from Fernies)

I'm tempted to put her on here with best offer over £17k, what do you think?

I'd rather someone got themselves a nice car at a good price, but there is the hassle factor with viewings, test drives etc. I really rather need the cash too frown

Nowt wrong with the clutch biggrin

I was only asking for an opinion as to whether the prices I have been quoted by dealers were fair.

Good luck if you do sell it, but don't do anything hasty, else you'll be heartbroken in the summer without your Cerb, driving your normal car smile

Yeah it was me ! Not really. Dont think I can get this one past her indoors, she wants to spend many 10s of thousands on the house and a new cerb will be deemed another delaying tactic from me (I think her shopping etc is as bad?!).

Painless (just don't ask my wallet biggrin), hassle-free and I can move on.

Just hoped no other dealer would buy blind. They know the car and seem to have no trouble selling their stock although a bit rich for my tastes.
