Loose wire - what is it?

Any advice as to what the loose wire shown in the attached photos is?

Found the wire was loose whilst checking the oil last night - I presume this might have something to do with my aircon, which stopped 'conning' yesterday?

Any ideas?

If the wire came from the black connector, then it's the feed to the air con compressor clutch. That would explain why your air con has stopped !
