My alarm/sound system/electrical guru has been upgrading the sound system and setting me up with a spare fob. He found some real puzzling and dodgy wiring while carrying out the work, probably the worst being an earthing point behind th dash which was just spinning no matter how tight! and the ECU yikes was connected to this! Anyway, all sorted now and I know he's sorted any 'dubious' wiring he came across.
The only thing he couldn't sort at the time was a faulty tweeter unit in the door - does anyone have a spare one lying around, or know where I could get one?
It's the standard Pioneer jobbie fitted to a '97 4.2.

Cheers

Probably not - Ian at Safe and Sound Installations in Ayrshire.
I may not have a TVR garage on my doorstep, but no problems with electrical faults - he's fast becoming a Cerbera expert....

I've got a 97 4.2 and I don't think mine has a tweeter in the door, just a single coaxial, around 6" at a guess.

Actually I mentioned getting some new audio equipment to the wife the other day who said "You're not wasting money an a stereo for that car.... it's too loud to hear the radio anyway!!"

Sigh, looks like I'll have to sneak some in then smile

Thats the best way - some things shouldn't require argue'consultation'!

Know what she means about waste of money though - mines still off and window down most of time....

Components would definitely be none standard. A standard TVR offering comes with a pioneer setup.

Still not had any joy looking for a replacement door tweeter - have tried Bellhill and Douglas Valley, anyone else I could try?

Tweeters re NOT standard so you wont be able to get a one, get the part number of the other one and buy one the same, or just buy a new pair that match.

Just tell her the louder HiFi is cheaper than the quiet exhaust from Silverstone performance.

is yours in this sort of place?

..tiny tweeter, sorry about the duff piccy.

Then recommend 1 new one and if you can't find then 2 new ones, one for each door. Odd that it's blown though, any chance of hooking he wiring up to see if it has a signal? Maybe that one of your amps/senders is duff perhaps?
