Having just posted on the Landie forum (first ever) I noticed a few names that were familiar, as in Cerbie familiar but when I looked harder I couldn't believe how many Landie owners are TVR owners or vice-versa.
Is it a Brit thing or just a fascination with flawed quirky vehicles.

Am sure there is something to it.
I have had various TVRs and have now got a Disco 3. I think the cars speak a similiar thing for me - not sure what it is. Excess and in your face but with a quirky excuse. Unlike a 911 or a Cayenne.

Ha I've got a Cerbie and a Disco 3 too!

Check the Disco3.co.uk forum, I'm on there occasionally too!

Me too! Cerbera for sat/sun, disco 2 for very occasional use,and lwb transit as my everyday mode of transport. I'd like to think there is no comparison. Unfortunately when asked which car the kids want to go out in ,its inevitably the van they want to go in ! SVM

I sold my Rangie recently I do miss it. I got it when I was 21 because it had a big V8 and was good fun offroad. I will get another one.

I would really like a mint classic with the brooklands kit on it.

I think there is definately a connection between TVR and Landrover, for me its because they are the best of British!

Me too, have a 4.2 cerb, 07 defender, had a td5 before that, also a disco 3, had a td5 before that and a 300tdi before that so i can see a patern emerging.
Disco 3 is awsome massive improvement on the 2 before, not that impressed with the new defender thought the td5 was a way better engine and the cerb is mega. Dont know what i will do if Tata buy Land Rover! then again i cant buy a new TVR ither!

Are you the girl who came and said hello on the Evo forum a couple of weeks ago (can't be too many female 400GT drivers out there!)? Do you have a TVR as well?

Another Landrover/TVR owner here.Over the years owned or drove everything that came out of Solihull, including the Military specials.I like to keep things British. But have had the odd yank over the years.

Well, in that case wavey. I don't think many cross over between the two fora.

As for the original Q - I had a 110 years ago (in fact it was one of the cars I learned to drive in), but many cars and a not insignificant amount of time have passed under the bridge before I find myself with the Tiv.

Steady on there old chap, this is a thread about cars, not what you do in your spare time.

Another here, Cerb and a 110 Defender... think the landies days are numbered however frown

A matt black Defender is on my list of future additions to the fleet - mainly to be used for nudging private hire taxis in the Birmingham area...

What he means is, being a 'sweaty sock', he was too tight to pay for anything more than a tin of Hammerite and a brush hehe

hehe I'll be after a SWB diesel... though lpg? hmm.. thumbup

GrahamJ is to blame for me liking the idea of a LR, oh, that and the morons who cant drive in Birmingham...

Defender + various bars + lots of lights + fake plates = the perfect inner city vehicle. May also be tempted to fit a water cannon or similar. ranting Can you tell im not happy with the way things are headed round here? hehe

I no longer have a landie but had a series IIA for 11 years then a range rover for 10. The landrover only lost £9 per year in depreciation!! I think my Aston has lost a thousand times more since I bought it a year ago. Must be a moral there! Landies and TVR are British, flawed diamonds, and never boring (my cerb especially).
