No popping and banging
Discussion
My 4.5 did something strange yesterday.
It stopped popping and banging at 3K revs !!!
I had done about 1.5 hrs in it in rush hour traffic.
The temp was fine. The weather was coldish and wet.
I then stopped at a shop and then the car was struggling a little and tried to stall and was running a little rough.
A couple of hrs later I checked all visible leads and fluid levels - all fine. I then started it and it was running fine. Took it for a drive and it was totally fine!!?
Anyone had a similiar problem?

Sounds a little like the fuel vaporisation problem to
me, especially as you'd stopped it when hot and tried
to restart quickly?
Go create some weather...

Had a fairly similar thing when I came back from GotG.
After 3 hours in the car and 150 miles the car was running fine, even if a little hot. Once I came off the motorway and back into traffic, the revs dropped at tickover to 600-800 revs, the things seemed a little sluggish and the popping stopped.
I agree with G, I thought at first it was oil pressure dropping off but it would make sense that fuel was evaporting.
