Chaps,

Having a few choice upgrades done to the Cerb at the moment and I suspect grip might be a problem in the near future. I'm thinking of fitting R888's - are they sensible for road use or just plain stupid?

They are mega in the dry but in the wet the only word to describe them is stupid haha. There is a new tyre to 2008 called the 'R1R' its supposed to be better in the wet that the R888, this is what i'm going for in the summer. Here is a link for them. http://www.toyoproxesr1r.co.uk/

Oooo, they look just the ticket.

Signed up for the mail - any clues other than early '08 for release?

R888's are as stated very grippy in the dry especially when they have warmed up a little. Contrary to popular belief they also offer very good grip in wet conditions when the roads are not flooded. In 3 years I have never had a moment but I am cautious on wet roads. Other than that I swear by them.

If you do buy some check the compound rating as there are now 2 compounds - GG and a softer GGG. Make sure you get the same compound front and rear as it will affect the balance

I meant to say handling in the wet depends on how heavy your right foot is, but i suppose with the Cerb this is the same with any tyre laugh

Chap, I just love the look of your Cerb - going to go for orange/balck myself.

I have a picture of your motor as my wall paper smile

888's look as if they will be a right PITA in the wet (thus people pipe up and comment without experience about how cack they are in the wet), but they really are no worse than any other high performance summer tyre unless you hit standing water.
