Looking at buying 2nd car that is for sale in the Leicester area,, It's not a Cerb, but based n the assumptio the Cerb owneres know a thing or two about cars, I'd appreciate if anyone can take it for a quick spin and let me know what it's like.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm in Gloucester, too far away and I can't make it till the weekend anyway!
The car's in Loughborough Rd, Leicester - Just waiting for the guy to ring back with the full address, I'll post on here soon as I know.
If it isnt too much trouble it would be much appreciated.

Alo!

That's about 3 miles from me. It's an industrialised area running bt t'river.

Be happy to help if I can (note, I'm not a mechanic! However, nearby I have a friendly mechanic/MOT Tester/Car restoer who may be willing to help).

Paul above would be a better bet for a techy opinion as he's an engineer.

Happy to take you out in mine for comparison etc. Dave

I'm confused now confused I thought it was S1M VP, who I now notice is called Paul who went to have a look at the car for me. But now your asking me what sort of car it is, so maybe it wasn't you! Also when I spoke to [i]you on on the phone, I called you Matt. So who is the Phantom Car Inspector from Leicester? Whoever you are, Many thanks, the car's being delivered tomorrow, and I haven't even seen it yet yikes

Still....£850 and that includes a brand new, with reciept and guarantee, £450 JVC Double Din CD unit smile so wish me luck

Oh, this is it.....

Twas me

Oh by the way the aircon sort of works, the compressor clicks in and out but the cold air isn't that cold from the vents so hopefully its just a re-charge required.
Tempted to get one for myself now...

MYstery solved - Cheers Matt, Hopefully just a re-gas then. Yes they're a nice underated car, and a good 2nd Car for Cerb owners, pretty rare, only 633 bough into the UK, and as an aside, the only (as far as I know) V6 FWD car because they are also pretty rare and cheap as chips fpr some reason, that has the engine mounted longtidinally.
Thanks again,

PS Apologies for a 'Nothing to do with Cerbera's' thread.

Is that a Legend?

I had the old 2.7 V6 version, was a great warhorse, eventually 'retiring' it with 260K on the clock, there was a nasty knock coming from the engine but everything else worked from the air con to the heated mirrors. biggrin

Was the same engine that Rover 'stole' for the 827 so loads of spares were available.

Mine looked just like this:

Not the most elegant of designs. biggrin

Could lose the spoiler on the one in your pic, bit too chav. biggrin

It seems fine Matt, all the toys, and theres lots of them, work, although you need a degree in Electronics to work out how to use the Stereo smile - I was initially worried the Head Gasket had blown because I can't get the heater to blow hot air in. But had this checked and HG is fine, so a new Thermostat will be fitted soon to try and get some warmth in the cabin.
