Recently have been thinking about insulating the manifolds on my 98 4.2 Cerb in an attempt to lower under bonnet engine temperatures. Was wondering what peoples thought and experiences have been from doing this? My car has a full stainless decatted system.

Does anyone know if theres any issues regarding heat being retained within the block from doing this? I have heard of manifolds cracking but has anyone destroyed or damaged a block?

Not a fan of exhaust wrap. Yes it will keep under bonnet temps down, However it will also get soaked in oil etc, Not a problem unless you have an engine fire! Then they become a catalist. I would rather pay the extra cash and get a pair ceramic coated.

all imo of course

wrapped teh exhausts on mine and on every TVR I've owned for thelast 10 years, only ever had an issue when the manifolds are not stainless.

Otherwise it works a treat, but yes the cermaic option is more effective and prettier but about 10 x the cost
