So many symptoms no diagnosis
Discussion
Ive recently been having some real problems with my Cerbera behaving erratically. Its a 97 4.2 and its had a starter motor refurb about 4 months ago. The story goes a little like this:
About two weeks ago I drove my Cerb to footy on Sunday picked my mate up played, lost, got back to the car, started as usual the engine got to 10K RPM then stalled. Did the same again when I attempted with a little more revs! After trying to start about seven times I lost charge in my battery so gave my local indie a ring. When he came he boosted it and it started first time, I got him to repeat the feat and finally got it to repeat the stall. He said just give it more revs if it does it again.
Drove it home and after a troubleless week driving it to work etc thought the problem had cleared up until:
Last Friday went to the car park and attempted to start the car to drive home, starter motor spins, engine doesnt turnover. Trace this problem back to the fuel pump relay that doesnt seem to be clicking, give it a good bang on the floor replace the relay start the car and starts first time! Bought a new relay and no problems. All was fine until Monday morning when for some reason my drivers side window failed to open when I opened the door, got in had a fiddle, still wouldnt go down. Drove the car (which was fine) got home forced the rubber seal around the fully closed window and activated the fob.
So this morning:
Flat battery so jump start car. Jumps into life, window works normally! Start driving only to realise that my windscreen wipers, indicators, lights, horn are not working, however the harzards are fine. Pull over turn the car off, re press the black button MIL light on, all indicators, wipers back working! Try to start the car and it repeats its sunday morning stall routine getting to 10k revs and then stalls. Flat battery again now but at a loss to know whether all symtoms are related or just a bunch of individual issues
Any comments would be appreciated-
Cheers Matt

First off is it charging the battery?
Check with voltmeter - measure voltage across terminals (or +ve and engine block) then start engine and re-measure it should be going up
It it is charging I'd suspect the battery but change the big fuse first as that's a bit cheaper.
It its not charging then get the alternator off and checked by an auto electrics place, if thats OK ( as it was on mine) then you've got a break in the diode pack switch wire which run from the back of the alternator ( the little one) to the bulb on the speedo, it will also not charge if the speedo bulb has blown

There is an electrical earth point inside the car, it's not uncommon for that to come loose and that will cause intermittent problems. IIRC it's accessible from the passenger footwell - one of those "head upside Down in the footwell jobs" - Sorry I can't remember exactly where it is, but now that I have mentioned it, hopefully someone else will know the one I am talking about and tell you.
