Hi All,

I was cleaning the inside of the car the other day and saw this under the steering collumn. Can anybody enlighten me as to what it might be? It looks like something should plug into the end of it but not all the time as it has a cap on the end. It was attached to the inside of the collumn by a bit of velcro. Curious eh?

Thanks!

Does it have wires attached ?

If not, perhaps the borrowers have moved in, and one of them's left their hip flask behind.

Sorry, not the best picture...

Yes it does have 2 wires coming out of the end of it that dissapear into the innards of the car somewhere.

The end under the cap looks like something is supposed to plug into it.

This picture is a little better and shows the 2 wires just above that come out of the end of the thing:

Typically, it does look like the thing is actually falling to bits, but it doesn't seem to be having a negative effect on the car...

I will try and get some better pics tomorrow if nobody can enlighten me tonight.

Three choices then....input, output or immobiliser.

Be interesting to see if there are 12 volts on the wires. If so, my guess would be some sort of connection for a trickle charger .

I must bring your attention to the word "guess" smile

It's a charger socket foe a acumate charger it is normally put near the front number plate, so you can just plug in the charger outside of the car with no fuss.
if you have a look on the Leven website they sell them.

Ahh right - thanks!

So if I had the relevant charger (and if I had power in my garage!) I could keep the battery topped up.. Handy to know!

Thanks for the info!
