Well it's been a long long time away but tomorrow i get to pick up the cerb after it's engine rebuild. Leaving here about 7 am and hope to be in sunny blackpool by 1ish then back up the road by 7.

Getting really excited about it but also a bit nervous. Can't remember how to turn the lights on but i'm sure i'll be able to work it once i sit in it again.

If you see a Silver 4.2 with a rather nervous/scared looking driver tomorrow feel free to wave.

Have to add woohoo and bounce as that is how i am feeling right now.

Congrats! Hope you really enjoy her. Working out the lights is fine. Mind you, the heater controls...

Have fun!

Yes, picked it up and drove it home rather gingerly in the rain. Hit Carlisle and found a horrible noise when accelerating up to 5th gear. At that moment i wanted to cry, seriously. Picked up the phone and called Dave (The Garage Dude) who was away for the weekend but kindly made himself available. Sounds like it's the exhaust manifold vibrating against the chasis. The engine is trying to find it's position.

The next day the noise had gone but it appears to return if i drive for long distances in 5th gear. We're going to fix it at the oil change which was meant to be 2 weeks ago but thankfully the garage have been quite flexible with returning. Should be heading back down next week if the weather improves so we can change the oil, fix the noise and remove the engine restrictions.

So far the oil pressure and engine temperature look to be spot on and the only things to break is the stereo, registration plate coming off and seat pump redface)

Automedon. Blackpool area.

I have to be said it is very different to my last car. I spent the first couple of days taking off with a tiny amount of power and wondering why it felt a little lumpy. More loud pedal seemed to fix that.

Oh dear, i hear the original cranks aren't the best. Any idea how long it's going to be away for?
At least the roads are snowey at the moment so you aren't missing too much of the nice weather.

I walked outside today, took one look at the roads, slipped on the ice while walking to the car and deemed it not a good cerbera day.

I was hoping to get it back for the 10th of April but I'm not sure how realistic that is nowfrown

Be happy you have your Cerb back Malx and get out in it no matter the weather biggrin

I'm sure you'll have it back in no time. You could pass the time by watching all the cerb videos on youtube. I know i did.

Think i may go out for a drive at lunchtime to blow the cobwebs away driving
