Hi ALL

Sidelights and dimdip not working on first position on switch.
They were OK a few days ago!
Second position on light switch brings the sidelights and full dipped beam on. Fuse 4 OK (they would not work at all if it was blown)

Sounds like it could be the light switch itself, or a wire fallen off, or is there a relay gone?
But I have moved the steering wheel up and out, could this have disloged something? Also been groping about underneath to ge the air vent open.

Any experience of this would be helpful!!
Anybody got a wiring diagram for a 1998 Cerb?

Hi, could be the dim/dip control box, thats the small box next to the door control unit in the boot, try unplugging it for five then re-connect.
Good luck.

Or the connector block could be burnt as happened to mine.

My guess is burnt connections on control box... Fairly simple job to open unit and solder a couple of wires in place of the original pins and connect outside the box with bullet connectors.
That's what I did and never had any probs after that.

Cheers!

Seems that the control box is the first port of call to check!

Would that stop the rear lights as well?

Many Thanks, but where can we get a wiring diagram from?
Are those Ebay disks any good?

I would definetley check that you havent dislodged the ribbon cable on the back of the switch. Its easy to do, especially if you've recently been poking about there. A similar thing happened to me wherby the ribbon cable was dislodged just enough that the leds inside the switdh wouldn't come on, but the switch itself still functioned. All was fine after I pushed the cable all the way home.

Best of luck!
