Nitron Spring Rates and arb
Discussion
Could anyone with Nitrons tell me what spring rates they are running and how they find them. I am about to send mine away for refurb and get new Eibach springs as mine have sagged. My suspension has always felt to bouncy especially on the rebound however I think a lot of this is due to the shocks always being a bit past it even when I first got it. I was thinking about upping the rates slightly though as it did roll a bit to much for my liking.
Also would it be worth changing the front arb while its off to a 25mm version? Or would this just promote understeer?

The Eibachs will still sag anyway so don't bother wasting your money on those. An Eibach rep came to see me a few years ago, he insisted their springs didn't sag, so I showed him a whole host of old TVR Eibach springs I'd got all of which were different free lengths (they shouldn't have been) .. he said something like "oh" and turned around and left. Haven't seen him since.

lol!I bought some 'cheap' springs to play around with spring weights. As I'd also been told that the extra cost wasn't worth the money.
It doesn't take long to change the springs so worth considering.
I bought mine through Rally Design, mainly because they're local and I could collect:

FYI: I have 500 Front and 400 Back.
Joolz did describe it as 'almost undrivable' on the road, but I quite like it.
Handles like it's on rails now.

I'll probably go for new standard nitron springs then, I might up the rates by 25lbs front and rear though.
Has anyone any experience between the 2 different arbs?
Also is there any way to remove the rear arb as i'd like to powder coat it at the same time as all the other suspension components but it does not seem possible to get it out.

I asked around about the front ARB when I started rebuilding mine. The general concensus was don't bother as the larger dia' can cause more problems then it solves.Has anyone any experience between the 2 different arbs?

Wouldn't know about the rear ARB, as mine is an early lower variant.

Tim .. the thicker front ARB is a good move, in fact I have a few ARBs left which I had made even stiffer than the 4.5 version, allows you to run softer spring rates to protect your ride quality
hehe
AGHHHH
heheConflicting opinions there then - I really don't know who to believe.

Email me a price m8.

ATB & thanks

I put 600 fr and 450 rear on Ian at Torque RVT's car to shut up his moaning about lack of stiffness and I tell you its not that bad at all, even on the Cheshire back roads. It doesn't take long to change the springs so worth considering.
