Has anyone tried the upside down Racing Red shocks and springs on their 4.5 Cerb? I would be interested to know as I am due for a change on mine.

Can't any Cerb shocks, and not just those ones, be fitted upside-down?????

I would imagine so, but it would be interesting to find out if anyone has used thse shocks as on my last 4.2 Cerb I used Avo's but did not have much luck with them as they used to bottom out under full compression.

I have read that the Racing Red could be fitted upside dowm to reduce unsprung weight.

I'm going to visit PPC in Melton on Saturday (weather permitting!) and they will have RR's in to look at (they're having an "open day&quotwink. I'm considering them for mine. I'll see what info they have on them.

Be careful about what dampers you run inverted, generally pressured monotubes are ok, twin tubes aren't. There's other risks with running inverted though like more likely damage to piston rods, but some advantages in ease of getting to adjusters. You need to talk over your requirements with someone who knows the options and decide on the best for you.

I suggested running the Nitrons upside down to reduce unsprung weight last year but it was mainly poopooed on here. Now I see they are advertsising them strictly for this purpose. I always knew I was ahead of my time.

That's interesting. scratchchin

Think I may try turning mine upside down after a few races and track days to see how things pan out.

Here's a screen grab from the Nitron site:

I see they now sell a full blown race set-up for a little over £2K yum

I think PPC fitted them to a tiv recently 'on test' as it were but I'm not sure whose. There seems to be a fair few of going on Saturday so it should be a good day.

I like your web site. So If I go for the R.R's I could purchase from you? Also what price are the inlet trumpets/hoses shown in the pic of the 4.5?

I doubt if I'll be there long, I'll have the wife with me (plus I'm embarrassed about the state of my poor Cerby, imagine the criticism from all those other owners frownwink) and we're going to Belvoir Castle (hence the "weather permitting" comment) as they have some craft fair thing on.

But I do need to talk to Paul about a few things, and the RR's are the main reason I'm going this Sat. I spoke to Jill a couple of weeks ago and she mentioned the open day and the RR's, so I thought I'd wait until they actually had some in to look at before going over. Apart from the RR's I want the clutch and tappets looked at.
