Help, I need an eprom dump of a red rose.
Discussion
Title says it all really
. Slowly trundling through the MBE941 code and decided its incapable or running a red rose and that the actual coding not just the data must be different.
So, to help me on my way and put me out of my misery I need to beg, steal a red rose eprom dump, or borrow a chip to copy.
Anyone that anal that they have that dump lying around?

I would be very pleased to get a copy and look at the red rose code.
I'll email you offline.
Hi,I'll email you offline.

Sounds interesting (does that sound too nerdy), do you already have the std chip code? If so, I would be interested in seeing a copy.
Tim.

In what way won't it run a Red Rose? Are you talking about the switchable maps? AFAIK it is not really a switchable map, all the button does is remove 3 deg of ignition advance.

Mainly looking to get the functionality back into the Box.
The 95/8 Ron switch is interesting cos its one of the three inputs including boost trim and fuel trim that is looked at by the MBE in two different ways. The line goes in as an off/on switch but also goes in to the chip though a 10 bit A/D, effectively allowing it to sample a voltage.
I'm assuming its ignition trim, but thereby lies the problem. In the standard 4.5 and 4.2 chip I'm currently using the variable information is stored by the MBE but never used for anything, and the 95/98 switch information it gives to a 'yes'/'no' part of the MBE seems to be ignored completely.
Now either I've managed to completely miss the bit where it looks at this several times (which is possible) or the eprom code for a standard car has the code segment missing.
Have slowly traced from where it senses the crankshaft gap signal for TDC and the crankshaft pulse width to get speed, and then it goes off to get the various map info and lots of cals but nowhere can I see it refer to the pin.
Came to the conclusion that either my circuit diagram is wrong or the code only exists in a chip that uses it. Ie the red rose chip.
Even if I'm wrong though it will be fun to look at a red rose chip.

the code to handle the mapping inputs is definitely in the non red rose chips.
I had a mapping box working with my 4.2 (which is very early code) when I was doing the first round of investigation for Joo.
The red rose chips I saw were like the 4.5 chip with some mapping changes and the ignition trim input enabled for the 95/98 switch.
What is the version number starting at 400h? It will be something like #94110035

Well then maybe when I see the ignition trim enabled red rose chip it'll help me on my way the code to handle the mapping inputs is definitely in the non red rose chips.
