After spending a lot of time during a recent trip to Belgium stopping the sat nav from sliding off the dash, I wondered if anyone had a good way of mounting their satnav in the car? Using the sucker mountings seems to reduce visability quite a bit.

Previous sat nav had velcro to stick it to the dash, but that's now dead so hunting for a new one. We borrowed one for this trip so open to ideas about which model is a good fit (and also a decent European sat nav).

Apologies if this has been posted before but I couldn't find anything. Any help is appreciated.

Cheers

Mine's slap bang centre of the screen, low down touching the dash. Never have any problems smile

Mine lives in the dash cubby hole mounted via a suction clamp to a small piece of glass velcro'd to the underside of the ICE head unit - works for me biggrin

I've been thinking of mounting a screen there as well for Sat Nav. Seems a good place, but the cubby hole is a useful place to sling the keys biggrin

I'm with the Keithyboy piece of glass and sucker mount in the cubby gang! biggrin

Keeps it out of sight and out of the way, although unless you hang the glass from the top of the cubby (I have it loose on the bottom), the gearstick can prevent line of sight occassionally.

We have the cheapest TomTom one (which keeps getting nicked by the kids), but this sits on the legs of a small teddy bear in the cubby. It's out of the sunlight so easy to see, no wires around the dash, no obstruction of the windscreen...

My Sat Navs on my phone, but it may work for a normal unit....
I bought a cheap universal mobile phone holder which had a 8" bendy rod between the sucker and cradle for about a fiver - google for one. I bought the proper cradle for the phone and replaced the universal one with it. I've kinked an 'S' into it and it now suckers onto the windscreen low down between the centre dash and the spedo dash and bends down below the dash line not obscuring the view.
