Has there been any tasteful rear arches for the Cerbera in the past? Its just with my new motor looming in the distance (6.85ltr) traction is going to be 'challenging' . I was thinking another 30-35mm can get me to a 300ish section tyre, plus a tasty set of split rims could be quite mean looking. Please dont suggest speed 12 body kit, i'm thinking more subtle!

Nope to my knowledge it has never been done. The best way is to move the whole arch out by however much you need to.

Ive managed to get the 285 slicks on so you shouldnt have to many problems doing it this way.

Not sure where you're based (Birmingham?), but a we've just had the fibreglass arches on the Spite kit-car thingy(copies of Mk1 Escort Forest arches bonded onto the GRP body) widenned by just over 1.2".

The chap is in Redhill and has done an A1 job, just like "rolling" a stell arch and even blending the trailing edge of the arch into the body much better than it was previously.

He's also the same chap as will do the front end respray on my Cerb when the time comes.

PM me if you want contact details.

ETA - I don't have an after shot, but here's the before ones to give you an idea what I'm waffling about (and an unsubtle excuse to post pics of the project!):

One issue that springs to mind would be whether you want it flared or blistered, if that makes sense. Both would accommodate your requirement for wider wheels but it's the aesthetics that I'm thinking about.

They are 10" which is the biggest that compamotive make. I believe its ET37 but could be ET42 will have a look when i get home tonight.

My arches look like standard arches, i dont think you can tell the difference. However because im running a lot of camber they probably sit in about an inch further than they normally would.

Mike

p.s. i considered the escort moulds for the cerb. Not sure it would look wright imo.

All the iner arch was removed and remade. The outside of the arch in nearly an inch wider(to conceal the tyre).

Indeed. That's the first time I've found one of those cars lustworthy.

It's got an XE on 45's in it at the moment, but I've been toying with the ideal of building a supercharged C20LET to go in instead, as the cost of getting much over 200 out of the XE is pretty scary. It's off with Ivan at Procomp motorsport at the moment, so we'll see how many more gee-gees it can handle when it comes back.
It only weights 470kg wet (westfield spaceframe, all GRP body) , so a little goes a long waytongue out
