Drove the Cerb down to Dundee after my temperature probs. Never missed a beat, was fine. 60 mile round trip. starting to relax, ( if I ignore the temp gauge ! ) Spat out the odd bit of water, gauge read 110! Still plenty wate in the tank when I got home.

Is the gauge knackered?

I'd get a laptop hooked up to the ecu asap and get a true reading of the engine temp. Then make sure the fan(s) are kicking in when they should (92 first fan, 95 second fan). If they're not you can check they actually work by unplugging the fan connector and they should then come on permanently. If you need a copy of the software mail me through my profile.

Edited to add, if the guage is wildly reading over suddenly after being normal or flicks about when warming up, it would suggest an airlock in the system.

Hmmmm, could be an airlock as thats exactly what it does. I'll try bleeding it this weekend. Thanks.

. . . also bear in mind the gauge will often read 10 degrees higher than the actual temp due to the routing of the capillary tube to the gauge itself. Mine does wink

Well it's going to have to wait, what with the snow, and going back to work tomorrow . Tucked up in the garage , but bleeding the coolant will be the first job when I get back.
