I got a steel dash and matching heater switch part with the car but was put off by how involved the job sounded and the potential damage i could cause! Has anybody changed one on their cerbera and have any inside info or methods, ill probably dive in regardless but any tips would be good. The wood has cracked on mine and the interior/dash already has lots of nice alloy bits. Cheers

doing mine tomorrow.
the hardest part would seem to be the temp guage, because its a capilary tube it would have to be removed at the engine end and pulled though(carefully)
i'm changing my gauge for a digital one so makes no difference to me.
know someone talked about cutting a small slit in the new facia, not my choice but you wouldn't have to take the tube out

I replaced my Dash with a stainless steel one, theres 2 ways of doing it - the hard way and the easy way, the hard way is a real PITA and takes hours, disconnect the water temperature sender, and feed the tube all the way back through the car to remove the Temp gauge. The easy way is to cut a small slit right at the top of the new Steel gauge using a small Junior hacksaw blade to get a nice small cut in the steel. This way you can do it in about an hour, and all your left with is a very small line at the top of the gauge.
Fitting the steel heater plate involves removing the old unit by bending up the steel tabs that hold it in place, then you have to switch everything over and re-solder a couple of wires, fiddly, and you'll need a a soldering iron, hot glue gun and a very small Torque screwdriver to remove the 2 knobs.

Here's my dash showing the small slit at the top, you can't see it from the driving position as it is obscured by the dash cover.
